April’s PS Plus lineup confirmed

Sony Interactive Entertainment has confirmed the free PS Plus games for April 2026. Starting April 7, subscribers at every tier can download Lords of the Fallen, Tomb Raider I-III Remastered, and Sword Art Online Fractured Daydream at no extra cost. The titles remain available until May 4.

Lords of the Fallen: finally on PS Plus

If you don’t already own Lords of the Fallen, April is the month to pick it up. Released in October 2023 by CI Games and developed by HEXWORKS, this title has not previously been part of PS Plus, making its inclusion one of the more notable additions in recent months.

The premise follows a Dark Crusader on a mission to topple Adyr, a tyrant who plunged humanity into devastation. Lords of the Fallen sets itself apart with a dual-world mechanic: you can switch at any time between the realm of the living and the Umbral, the realm of the dead, with maps, enemies, and secrets that differ completely between dimensions. That extra layer changes exploration and distinguishes it from typical soulslikes. Technically, it’s one of the most demanding and visually impressive titles available on PS5.

Who it’s for: experienced soulslike players seeking a serious challenge. Newcomers to FromSoftware-style games may find it punishing as a first step.

Tomb Raider I-III Remastered: Lara returns to her origins

Some games age. Others create genres. Tomb Raider I-III Remastered is both. The collection bundles the three original titles with all expansions and secret levels included, something that has not been offered in an official modern-era collection before.

Aspyr’s remaster respects the original DNA while letting players toggle in real time between 1990s-era graphics and updated visuals with a single button press. For players who grew up with Lara Croft, it’s a trip back to the beginning. For newcomers, it’s the clearest way to see why the character still matters.

Who it’s for: any player curious about gaming history. The collection is accessible, content-rich, and available for both PS4 and PS5.

Sword Art Online Fractured Daydream: large-scale co-op for series fans

Sword Art Online Fractured Daydream is the most niche pick in the lineup and the most explicit about its target audience. If you’re unfamiliar with the anime, you may feel like you’ve jumped into a long-running conversation. For fans, it’s a solid offering.

The story begins when Galaxia, a new system of ALfheim Online, breaks loose and displaces players from different points in time and space. Kirito must gather allies and former foes to restore the timeline. The game’s standout feature is cooperative play for up to 20 players simultaneously, an uncommon scale for the genre that leads to genuinely epic battles.

Who it’s for: Sword Art Online fans and players who want large-scale cooperative experiences. It’s harder to recommend outside that audience.
