New Raid Content and Systems Deploy Today
ArenaNet has released a significant update for Guild Wars 2, available now across all platforms. The patch introduces The Guardian’s Glade raid, a fresh challenge for organized groups. This marks the first raid addition to the game in over two years.
The Guardian’s Glade Mechanics
The new raid takes place in a sacred woodland sanctuary corrupted by mysterious forces. Players will face five distinct boss encounters requiring precise coordination. ArenaNet confirms unique mechanics involving environmental manipulation and timed platform challenges.
Quickplay Mode for Raid Accessibility
A new Quickplay mode allows players to queue for raid wings without pre-formed groups. The system uses role-based matchmaking similar to structured PvP. Developers state this aims to reduce entry barriers for raid content while maintaining difficulty standards.
Fashion Template System Introduced
Players can now save and switch between cosmetic setups using Fashion Templates. This wardrobe feature functions similarly to build templates, allowing instant outfit changes. Ten template slots come free, with additional slots available for in-game currency.
Combat and Quality Improvements
The update includes class balance adjustments affecting all elite specializations. Notable changes address power disparities in condition-based builds. Server stability improvements specifically target high-population raid instances.
Reward Structure Updates
New achievement categories offer exclusive weapon skins and legendary crafting materials. Raid vendors now stock Ascended-tier accessories with selectable stat combinations. Weekly clear bonuses apply to The Guardian’s Glade during its launch period.
Availability and Requirements
The Guardian’s Glade requires ownership of the Secrets of the Obscure expansion. All other update features remain available to players with any expansion license. Patch 4.7.1 is currently live on North American, European, and Asian servers.
